Loyal Dog Patiently Waits For His Owner To Return After Riding With Him To Hospital

Last week, emergency medical workers in Brazil were called on to help a homeless man suffering from respiratory issues. Although the man may have been stripped bare of material possessions, they would soon discover that he was in fact, rich in other ways.

There, by his side was the man’s pup named Marrom, who stayed with him during his entire ordeal. Rather than shun the pup away, the sympathetic crew allowed him onto the ambulance, as they frantically loaded him into the ambulance.

Once the crew and patient arrived at the hospital in the town of Limeira, they could not allow Marrom into the facility for the safety of other patients. However, this setback didn’t stop the loyal pup for attempting to reunite with his best friend. Marrom waited outside of the emergency room desperate to catch a glimpse of his friend and partner.

As time wore on, the loyal pups actions were not lost on hospital faculty, who brought him food, water, and of course a generous helping of affection. One staffer, Jairo Xavier de Oliveira, took to Facebook and wrote,

“He is simply waiting quietly, very behaved. But you can wait little Marrom — soon we will return your friend.”

The hospital staff even took things a step further by placing a notice out the door warning patrons that Marrom was not a stray and that he actually belonged to someone. The notice read:

“Please, do not mistreat this animal, because he belongs to patient.”

When all was said and done, Marrom’s vigil lasted a total of 32 hours. A local news station was tipped off about the story and did a news segment about the pups unwavering loyalty to his owner. That’s when a rescue organization ALPA stepped in to see if the pup needed help himself. Marrom was given a thorough medical examination and was found to have ticks and fleas. He is presently being treated at the rescue and will be taken care of until his owner is released from the hospital.

As soon as his owner is well enough, Marrom and he will be reunited once again. ALPA is reaching out to organizations all over the country, to find Marrom, and his owner a stable living situation so that they do not have to return to the streets. We ask that you keep both in your hearts and in your thoughts.
