Heartbroken Pup Visits His Best Friends Grave Everyday

Young Cesur lost his best friend recently, and a once perfect life was shattered like broken glass. However, that hasn’t stopped the loyal pup from showing the love he always had for his best friend which is yet to fade.

A few weeks ago, after years of struggling with an illness that left him paralyzed, 79-year-old Mehmet Ilhan of Bursa, Turkey, died at a hospital a few miles away from his home. Cesur had been Mehmet’s faithful companion for close to a decade, and so his untimely loss left a void in the loyal pup’s heart that can never be filled.

Ali, Mehmet’s son said,

“Because of my father’s paralysis, they had a different kind of connection. When my father was in the hospital during his last days, Cesur stopped eating.”

Still, not one person close to Cesur, with knowledge of he and Mehmet’s relationship could expect what was about to happen next.

After Mehmet’s body arrived home from the hospital, Cesur remained close to him and refused to budge. When it was time to carry on with the funeral procession, a march down the street to honor Mehmet’s life, no one could touch Cesur. When they arrived at the burial ground to bid a final farewell, the loyal pup bowed his head during a moment of silence, to honor his best friend once and for all.

Cesur could only watch as Mehmet was laid to rest, and this didn’t bring him much closure.

Cesur now lives with Ali and his family. Since Mehmet was buried, in the last week, he managed to escape the house, to visit his best friend every day so he doesn’t feel all alone.

Ali had noticed that Cesur would dart off through the front door every morning he left for work, and so one day, he decided to follow him to see what was happening.

Ali said,

“The people who work in the cemetery say the first thing he does in the morning is visit the grave of my father.”

On that day, they paid their respect together and offered a solemn prayer to the man that they both admired and adored.

Ali concludes,

“Cesur has always been a noble animal. He will live with me from now on.”

We ask that you keep Cesur in your thoughts and in your hearts as he struggles to pick up the pieces of a new life.
